Popular Kisumu Attractions, Kisimu Museum. The Kisumu Museum in Kenya’s third-largest city has displays about the culture history of this area.
There is a port city called Kisumu in the western part of Kenya. It is on the shores of Lake Victoria. It is the third biggest city in the country and has some interesting places to see.

There are a lot of outdoor buildings that make up the Kisumu Museum. Some of them are home to live animals, like fish from Lake Victoria. There are also Mambas, Puff Adders, Spitting Cobras, and other poisonous snakes from Kenya at the museum.

In other shows, weapons, jewelry, and farm tools used by people in Nyanza Province are shown. There are rocks in a pavilion in the museum that have art on them by Tara.

The Ber-gi-dala exhibition, which showed a traditional Luo farm and Luo artifacts, was the most important one so far. The UNESCO-sponsored exhibition shows the home, animal corrals, and granary of a Luo man. It also talks about the Luo people’s history, how they came to live in western Kenya, and their beliefs and habits.

The prehistoric site of Kanam

Kanam is near Homa Mountain, on the shores of Lake Victoria. An team led by Louis Leakey found a fossilized human mandible at this site in 1933. They also found Pleistocene animals and pebble tools. Scientists have recently found fossil bones at this spot that are from between 1 and 6 million years ago.

Hi Simbi Nyaima

Its name comes from the phrase “the village that sank.” Simbi Nyaima is a crater lake that is only a few kilometers from Lake Victoria’s shore. The Luo people pay a lot of attention to this spot because of this story:

It is said that the people of Simbi were enjoying their victory at the home of the chief when an old woman came in looking for a place to stay and food. But the boss pushed her away and made threats. She had to leave. One woman felt sorry for her, though, and gave her food and a warm bath. The old woman told the woman to leave the village with her husband and children. Just as they were leaving the town, there was a big storm that sank the whole thing.
