Situated in a private game reserve on Kenya’s Northern Laikipia Plateau, Sabuk Lodge offers a luxurious eco-friendly lodging option. It has a unique character because it is made from locally obtained stone and wood in a sustainable manner. This Kenyan lodge may provide a wide range of different activities for an East African safari vacation because it is situated on a private nature reserve.
On safari, where game drives are not possible, guests can see wildlife like Reticulated Giraffes from the back of camels. Alternatively, go on foot with an armed Samburu guide and discover how to track animals, identify herbs that can be used to manufacture poison arrows or heal, and learn about bird calls. Enjoy hours of fun tubing in the Ewaso Nyiro River or go swimming in it.
The lodge conducts numerous conservation projects and maintains tight ties with the neighborhood. Visitors can discover more about the pastoral lifestyle of the Samburu and Laikipak Maasai by touring their traditional homesteads. More endangered species can be found in the Laikipia region than any other place in Kenya. There is a healthy population of African Wild Dogs and a decent chance of witnessing Black Rhinos.
