Your Time at Basecamp Mara Houses

Masai Mara safaris in Kenya are best when they take place in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy. Basecamp Mara Houses is made up of three different houses. Each one is a private haven that can fit up to six people, making it perfect for a family or group safari in Masai Mara. With a cook, private game guide, tracker, and house manager, you can make your own safari plans and feel like you’re going somewhere special.

Basecamp Mara Houses are hidden away in the Mara North Conservancy in the southwest of Kenya, far from all the things that keep people busy today. They are in the right spot and are very far away from other people, so they don’t have to deal with noisy crowds. They still get to enjoy amazing Kenyan game viewing. If you want to catch any animals coming back from the hunt in the early morning light, watch the sun rise over a cup of coffee that smells great first.

Family vacations with game drives are great because they can be changed to fit the wants of the kids. A private cook can meet all of your dietary needs and make food that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. Specialized game safaris are a great way to keep kids happy and give them the chance to see a lot of animals.

The Acacia House

The large open-air veranda at Acacia House lets you watch the activities at the Ol Chorro waterhole without missing a beat. From the veranda, there is a path that leads to an open-plan dining and sitting room with a log fireplace.

The swimming pool and BBQ area are raised above the water hole and are shared with Mara House. This is a great place to watch the sun go down in the evening. The house has two large double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a room in the attic that was designed with kids in mind.

Mara House

The three homes are all new, but Mara House is the newest. It has three modern East African-style bedrooms with private bathrooms. It also has a lounge area that leads to a big porch with a shared pool area that looks out over the waterhole. Three of the bedrooms have private bathrooms, and there is a great room in the attic for kids.

Dik Dik House

The living and eating area at Dik Dik House is large and open, with a cozy fireplace. One bedroom has its own bathroom, and there is another bedroom with two beds that share a bathroom. The patio is private, and there is a pool for everyone to use.

The place

There are a lot of animals in Kenya’s Mara North Conservancy, where you can go on a relaxing and personalized Masai Mara tour.
Basecamp Mara Houses are in the Mara North Conservancy, which is away from the main tourist trail. This lets you get away from it all. This 70,000-acre preserve is home to a lot of wildlife and beautiful scenery.

You can see plains animals like elephants and zebras feeding on the lush grasses of Mara North. You may also see a lion, leopard, or cheetah close behind them.

One of the largest groups of lions in East Africa lives in the amazing Masai Mara ecosystem. They eat the large herds of animals that live there. The annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles adds to the 95 mammal species and 570 bird species that live in the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is a beautiful time to go on safari there.

Things to do

Basecamp Mara Houses were designed to provide a wide range of exciting game watching experiences for wildlife lovers and families on safari in Kenya.

Walks in the bush

The bush is best seen on foot with a Maasai fighter who has been there before and knows the area very well. Pay attention to all the little things in the bush as you follow the poop to find wild animals. As you walk through the bush, this amazing experience will make your sight, hearing, smell, and taste better.

Game drives on your own

If you have your own private guide and vehicle, you can set your own plan and pace and focus on the type of safari that interests you. You have the freedom to choose how long or short your game drives are, and you can change your mind at any time. This journey is just for you and no one else.

During day and night guided safaris, game drives leave from Mara and Acacia Houses to experience the Mara North Conservancy and the area around it.

The cars are either open so you can see the animals or closed so you can see them but have big windows and roof hatches that open. All of them have plugs for charging electronics and fridges to keep those important drinks cool.

Safaris for families

When you go on a family trip, the Mara Houses will take care of all of your needs. They have activities for kids of all ages. You will have a more personalized time in the African bush with a private guide. You can go at your own pace; there are no set times. Leave when you’re ready and come back whenever you want.

The guides know a lot about the bush because they grew up there. They love teaching kids and adults about their skills and stories from the bush.
