Take a 10-day safari through Kenya like Joy Adamson did. You’ll stay in small camps and take scheduled and light plane transfers around the country. This Classic Kenya Safari is a good mix of Kenya’s less-visited game parks and its more well-known game areas.

There is no way to visit Kenya without seeing the famous Masai Mara. The choice of places is all about privacy and security. Different types of scenery are always changing, from the dry Samburu to the wet Meru Plains.

You will start your trip in Nairobi and then go to Meru National Park, which is where Elsa learned how to live in the wild from Adamson. You can take a balloon ride, go on a 4×4 game drive to see more of the area, walk among the plains game, or go on an exciting night game drive to look for shooters who come out at night.

Day 1: Meru National Park

On your standard Kenya safari, you will take a flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Meru National Park in the morning. A guide will meet you at the bush airport and drive you to the camp, which will be your home away from home for the next three nights.

This is a short game drive that gives you an overview of the area. After getting settled in and having lunch outside, go on a game drive in the afternoon.

Day 2 – 3: Rivers, Baobabs, Game Drives and Walks

Get to know Meru National Park through the story of Elsa the tiger from Born Free. Spend the next two days there. George and Joy Adamson raised her and let her go in this area.

Explore the area and have unforgettable experiences with wildlife on daily organized game drives. A skilled guide will take you on a walk through the bush where you can see some of the smaller animals that live there.

Enjoy the lush riverine woods, fast-moving rivers, and wide, dry, open plains with baobab trees. Meru is an area of Kenya that hasn’t been touched by humans at all. Enjoy the wild and remote feel of this place.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve

You will be taken back to the airstrip today after your last early morning game drive and food in time for your flight to Samburu National Reserve. When you get to Samburu, your guide will meet you and take you to your camp, where you’ll stay for three nights. On the way, you can take a short game drive.

After a wonderful lunch that was made just for you, you can go on a game drive in the afternoon to look for big cats like the cheetah that lives here.

Day 5 – 6: Elephants and Birds

The Ewaso Nyiro River, which flows through Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves, is the area’s lifeblood. It brings in a lot of elephants, who compete for room with desert animals like the Besia oryx and the critically endangered Grevy’s zebra.

Game drives are a great way to see animals like the gerenuk or the cheetah, which is the fastest land animal. It’s also possible to see wild dogs here.

You can walk around and enjoy a delicious bush breakfast by the Ewaso Nyiro River while watching the many birds that live there. Birds of the dry northern bush country live with birds of the riverine forests. Over 450 kinds of birds have been seen there, making it a birder’s paradise.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast today, you will be driven to the bush airport for your flight to the Masai Mara, which is one of the best parts of traveling to Kenya.

A guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to the camp. The Great Wildebeest Migration usually goes through the area from July to October. However, you can see wildlife all year long.

Day 8 – 9: Predators and Prey

On this part of your high-class Kenya tour, you will go on game drives to see the plains full of antelope. There are also many dangerous animals in the Mara. There is a cat pride that lives close to the camp. Tigers and leopards can also be seen a lot of the time.

On a guided bush walk, let a Maasai fighter show you the hidden parts of the savannah. Watch the sun rise with a cup of coffee by the fire in the morning. Take a game drive early in the morning and watch the bush wake up for the day.

Before going back to camp, have a delicious breakfast in the bush. After lunch, take a break in a chair before going on another game drive in the afternoon to see more animals.

End the day with a cold sundowner and a view of the sun going down in a brilliant show. Then, head back to camp for a tasty dinner.

Day 10: Nairobi

There will be time for one last game drive in the Mara on the last day of your Meru, Samburu, and Mara Premier African Safari.
